Recently, I'd watch a film produced by Star Cinema titled, "It takes a man and a woman".
The film is about a Woman which is characterized by Sarah Geronimo that can't get over from her past love life with the Man which is John Loyd Cruz.
As the film began, I noticed that the concept was almost the same with a Hollywood film which isFriends with Benefits.
The film made it to the top, which breaks the Box-office records see the article.
and no doubt for the film to make it to Box-office for the reason, that the film is in flow of business.
The film was wisely executed in terms of business maybe because of;
1.timeline where more OFW are coming back to watch the film as the summer began.
2. relatedness, as the most of the Filipino graduates who worked abroad, they certainly have a love life, family issue and home sickness problem so they can just easily relate on the film. that's a basic!
3. Nothing beats John Loyd in a love story chick flip film and a Pop actress, which idolized of the most age living people who still able to watch Cinema, read and ready to get dirt for a single autograph.
They called it Mainstream, Its Business!
but in a sense of Observing and Criticizing the film, comparing to the Hollywood film, Friends with Benefits,hold on! why is it Friends with Benefits? I really don't know. but at the beginning of the film which i didn't even see the trailer of the film before i watched it, the first movie comes into my mind in the first minute of the film is no other than "Friends with Benefits". The reason why? because of the following scene i observed,
First, The introduction scene of
It takes a Man and a Woman - Sarah Geronimo is talking on a phone while John Loyd Cruz driving and talking on a phone too, assuming they are the one who will meet. but its not, its not them, different people.
Friends with Benefits - in a little bit more intro Justin Timberlake in a business discussion, a girl called him, assuming its Mila Kunis, Justin Timberlake drive in speed, as they both talk on phone like they are the one who will meet up, but its not them.
Of course, for the film It takes a Man and a Woman, basically, they will do a little of "retoke". then lets move on to the next.
Second one,
Friends with Benefits - The Advertising/Magazine Company which is the GQ. their is nothing more i can say but the story revolves within. It's Justin Timberlake and Kunis on board. girl get her way out, the boy finds him. if something's went wrong? then make it right? right?
It takes a Man and a Woman - Flippish! it's Flippish! another of Advertising/Magazine Company. oh the hell? Yes and that's it. as their company wants to partner with a foreign company(Empire). then? next? the girl wants out, the boy runs for her as he wants to make it right! right?
The NEW YORK DANCE! The Flash mob! Ricky Martin?
It takes a Man and a Woman - as they travel to New York for a business trip, they both dance outside the street!
Friends with Benefits - No! its flash mob!
Its Flash mob! they both dance on the street with a
number of people from their back.

a Fairy tale love story.
You'll find it at the END of the film Friends with Benefits but they didn't want to have a hitch with..
In the film It takes a Man and a Woman, You'll find it at the END of the film but they got a hitch on it.
Before it ends, another Cinerama on the film It takes a Man and a Woman, is a musical dancing Proposal.
as same as the Musical mob dancing proposal in the film Friends with Benefits.
In my opinion, in this kind of film, It's such a shame to promote this kind of FILM internationally. I believe in Filipino films and not with a foreign films. with this such film, which they almost copy everything and just make a revision, replacement and "retoke" from a film. This is not a Good Film to watch or either to support.
Since the Mainstream made a lot of Money in this kind of Movie, they will do such a garbage film for their next, just to make another Bag of Money.
Film is not just about money, Film making is about showing of everything and anything. If you want to show something, make it different and not as just the same as what the people's watch.
Mainstream nowadays making a Film for the MONKEYS to generate more MONEY.
